Marooned Again is an old school interactive ficition game with the cheesy old two-word parsers (GET CUBE, OPEN DOOR, etc; SHOOT MONSTER WITH LASER GUN is definitely out). You're a space traveller of sorts who crash-lands on an alien planet and sends out brain-damaged clones (good excuse for the weak parser) to explore an alien space ship and bring you back home.

This has to be the most frustrating game I've ever played. I haven't made any significant progress in the past seven years. I've found nifty items and lots of rooms, but I still don't seem to be any closer to finishing the game. It's not even like I'm stuck on one puzzle; there's just no hints at all of what I'm supposed to do next. The author makes a big deal about how the game is supposedly extremely logical; oh well.

Why isn't anyone downloading Marooned Again? Is it because it sucks? I demand that everyone download this game and play it. Hopefully, someone will figure out how to beat it.

If I'm assassinated tomorrow, and my ghost can't rest because it never finished Marooned Again, you'll all be sorry that you didn't help me. Actually, you'll probably just laugh at me.

After taking Kevin's advice and downloading this game, I seem to have the exact same problem. I demand more people download this. At least give it a try so I can move on with my life instead of being held back by a game so trivial as this.

Basically it's come down to finding out how to do one new thing every week. It's sort of annoying.

Something to help you guys out a LOT: Though the instructions don't tell you this, you can actually use the SAVE and LOAD commands to.. well... save and load the game! After learning this nifty fact (thanks Kevin!), I was actually able to make some progress.

I will give a $20* reward to the person who beats this game and tells me how.

Everyone is Blind

I just downloaded Marooned Again for the first time. It appears that everyone is blind, because two facts went seemingly unnoticed.

1. Marooned is not limited to two-word parsers. One of the first commands I used was "PUT CUBE IN HOLE".

2. All you have to do is type HELP and it mentions the SAVE and LOAD commands.

Bah.

I've been working on this game off and on for about ten years, usually getting frustrated and throwing it back in the dusty disk box in one of my drawers. Getting the object out of the pool is where I repeatedly got stuck. Well with a little research, I came up with this walkthrough.
