LineWars II presents a valuable lesson to us all, or, more accurately, to Pie in the Sky. LW2 is a space-based flight sim that shamelessly rips off the plot of Star Wars. The simulation itself is very simple, and it only takes about 10 seconds to master the controls. In addition, the graphics are primitive by modern standards (Lambert-shaded polygons), but fortunately are very clear.
Despite its simplicitly, LineWars II is actually fun. Actually, I should say that because of its simplicity, LW2 is actually fun. Personally, I'm far too lazy to learn my way around a baffling flight sim, but LW2 lets me shoot things and watch them blow up.
It's worth noting that LW2 has multiplayer support, which was still a novelty in 1995. I spent many (2) enjoyable hours shooting my friends over our 14.4Kbps modems.

Great google moogly! Is it concieveable, ney possible? ClassicGames FINALLY got a new game? And further more, a decent one? I am shocked, amazed, and in a happy haze. Bless my stars and garters I can't believe it. Is this a sign that maybe, just maybe, this site will get more games?G-d bless America and the first ammendment which keeps crazys like me out of jail.
