This game is so classic. It's the first real release from Epic MegaGames. I mean, this game is so old that Tim Sweeny used the proceeds from ZZT to pay for production! This game is so old that Tim Sweeny actually wrote it!
Babbling aside, it's another side-scroller--and although Xargon is considered to be its direct descendent, it is similar to Vinyl Goddess from Mars in that the main character is a hot babe. You get to run and jump your way through some fairly interesting levels, magically transforming into various animals along the way. Your main weapon is one of those deals where you throw it and it comes back to you, which leads to some pretty innovative methods of offing your enemies.
But where do these enemies come from? Why are you killing them? Alas, the greatest fault of Jill of the Jungle is its total lack of plot. The entire story is summarized along the lines of "Have fun as Jill goes on her journey." I suppose one can assume the plot is as follows: Jill lives in the jungle, which means that Jill is surrounded by nature. Nature, being mankind's natural enemy, must be destroyed at all costs. Jill is truly a femme fatale.
Play Jill! Have fun! Kill all lifeforms in the jungle!
