This game resembles the original Dangerous Dave in name only; it's more like Commander Keen meets DOOM. He has traded his jetpack and pistol for a shotgun and a pickup truck. Dave must trek through the haunted mansion, blowing away all sorts of zombies, werewolves, and toxic blobs. The shotgun holds eight rounds; Dave will reload it when standing still, which makes gameplay quite challenging.

Playing this games gives you an abundantly clear picture of where later, more gruesome id games like DOOM and Quake came from: each of Dave's possible deaths results in a closeup animation of a knife in the face, strangulation, or what-have-you.
