Brace yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, for I am about to unveil something which defies logic as we know it: a well-done Bible game that is actually... fun.

Perhaps I was hallucinating during gameplay, but the graphics are above par (and somewhat 3D), the sound is bearable albeit repetetive, and the action is decent.

The most astonishing part is that the game manages to incorporate the Bible in a slick way that doesn't really hinder the interface. One of the major faults of most Bible games is that you have to bring along your own Bible to play; however, Captain Bible has its own on-board Bible. Six different editions, to be precise. Not only does it incorporate the Bible smoothly, it's also done quite tastefully. Well, it's not appalling, which is more than you can say for certain other games.

The story is that the weather control tower recently built in a nameless city was revealed one day to be, in actuality, the Tower of Deception. The Tower trapped the city in "an anti-truth field, which was shutting out even the natural truth of God's creation." I'm quoting from the manual here. Anyhow, Captain Bible breaks into the facility, armed with his faith and his electronic hand-held Bible. He must weave his way past a network of robots of deception, defusing their myths with the Bible verses he collects along the way.

I admit that I was disappointed when I found out that there would be no horrible graphics or immense stupidity on part of the programmers. I am amazed that a computer program was created that seems as though it would have a possibility of perhaps beginning to maybe sort of start to somewhat capture a child's attention long enough to teach him or her about the Bible.
